Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Moroccan Trippers collects when you use moroccantrippers.com, contact us or book a tour, why we use it, who we share it with and the rights you have.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The website moroccantrippers.com is operated by Moroccan Trippers, a trading name of Auberge Les Roches Merzouga, Merzouga 52202, Morocco (Moroccan travel agency licence no. 52000AB0072). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Contact for any privacy question: contact.moroccantrippers@gmail.com · WhatsApp +212 617 394 537.
2. What data we collect
- Data you give us: when you fill in a contact or booking form we receive your name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, nationality (where asked), travel dates, number of travellers and your message. When you write to us by email or WhatsApp we receive the details contained in your message.
- Booking data: if you book a tour, we also process the information needed to organise it, such as the names of the travellers, arrival details and any dietary or accessibility needs you choose to tell us.
- Usage data (only with your consent): if you accept analytics or advertising cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads collect information about how you use the site, such as pages visited, the device and browser used, approximate location (country/city) and whether you contacted us after clicking an ad.
- Technical data: our hosting provider automatically records server logs (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser) to keep the site secure and working.
3. Why we use your data and our legal basis
- To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and organise your tour: necessary to take steps at your request before a contract and to perform the contract.
- To measure and improve our website and advertising (Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion measurement): only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam: our legitimate interest in running a safe website.
- To meet legal obligations, for example accounting and tax records for bookings.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
4. Who we share it with
We only share personal data with service providers that help us run the website and our tours, and only as far as needed:
- Hostinger – website hosting.
- Web3Forms – delivers the messages you send through our forms to our email inbox.
- Google – email (Gmail), Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads (the latter two only if you consent).
- WhatsApp (Meta) – if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, your conversation is handled under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
- Content delivery networks – Google Fonts, cdnjs (Cloudflare), jsDelivr and flagcdn deliver fonts, icons and small images; they receive your IP address when your browser loads these files.
- Local tour partners – when you book, we pass the necessary details (names, dates, special needs) to the drivers, hotels and camps that provide your services.
5. International transfers
We are based in Morocco, and some of our providers (such as Google) may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, these providers rely on recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep your data
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Booking records: as long as required by accounting and tax law.
- Analytics data: retained in Google Analytics for 14 months.
- Your cookie choice: stored in your browser for 12 months, after which we ask again.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, for cookies via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
To exercise your rights, email contact.moroccantrippers@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example the ICO in the United Kingdom, the authority of your EU country, or the CNDP in Morocco.
8. Children
Our website is not directed at children under 16. Bookings for minors are made by a parent or guardian.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
